The model home draws inspiration from the designers' interpretation of Chinese Song Dynasty aesthetics. Historically revered, turquoise symbolized wealth, beauty, and blessings, reminiscent of serene, distant green mountains, embodying both elegance and tranquility. The designers have chosen turquoise as the dominant color, infused with the essence of jade. Jade carries auspicious and blessed connotations in ancient Chinese culture, symbolizing the ideal of harmonious coexistence between humanity and the cosmos.
Stepping into the space feels like wandering through a landscape painting, where a sense of peace sinks deep into the soul, creating a leisurely and contented atmosphere. This design not only reflects the tranquility and aesthetic refinement of Song Dynasty art but also integrates cultural depth, making the home a sanctuary of traditional elegance and modern living.
-The Beauty of Color Layering
The designers show masterful creativity and skill in their use of color. Turquoise is not just a single shade but a spectrum-like layering of hues. The project starts with a base of aqua green paint, adorned with textured stones like malachite green and gold leaf effects, complemented by Belgian wallpaper. As the light changes, the space shifts between being serene and vibrant. The dynamic use of color allows turquoise to take center stage without overpowering; it blends naturally into the field of vision, enveloping one in a fresh and luminous environment.
-The Gentle Power of Curves
The challenge of height restrictions that could make the space feel oppressive is cleverly addressed with the design of curved ceilings. The soft curvature extends the line of sight, alleviating any sense of confinement due to the ceiling height. Paired with a layout that promotes transparency from side to side, this adds a sense of lightness and showcases a gentle and inclusive atmosphere within the space.
