Lakeside Villa is a modern vacation house designed for a family. Located in a town in Xuancheng in China, this elegant white house is embedded at the junction of the hillside and the lake, featuring a design that responds to both the natural topography and the landscape.



Xuancheng is located in the south of the Yangtze River, with beautiful tea fields, forests, and rivers. Inspired by the site shape, the design uses the circle as its basic form and reflects a minimalist aesthetic through a combination of clean lines, simple colors and native materials, which makes it a unique presence in the town. From a distance, the white plastering and dark concrete stand out among the green hillsides and blue lakes, and the sunlight adds warmth to the scene.



To maximize views, the ground floor opens southwards toward the lake through floor-to-ceiling windows, enabling the lake view to be framed to become the real protagonist of the owner鈥檚 sight, while the cantilever on the upper floor blocks the dazzling strong sunlight at midday. Large expanses of glass in the communal area not only blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors but also create a dynamic interaction by bringing the warmth of sunlight and the sound of the lake into the house. Additionally, an open-air swimming pool is created to allow families who love swimming to enjoy sunbathing and relax. 3 bedrooms and an open-plan living area are arranged on the upper floor, which provides family members with moments of solitude.



In the interior design, native wood and warm orange color are used to embellish the active atmosphere, and uneven stone is used as the TV backdrop. When families step into this landscape-oriented home, they begin a joyful journey of enjoying nature and family gatherings away from distractions.
